Hiding inside a virusEdit
This is the most common troll in Agar.io and the most efficient. The troll hides himself/herself in a Virus and waits for someone smaller to come and eats that player or he/she gets out of the virus when the other player is close enough. However, there are scripts that change the opacity of viruses so users of these scripts can look through viruses.
Shooting into a VirusEdit
These trolls are used to own big cells. When a big cell gets close to the virus, the troll will try to shoot mass into the virus until a new virus is ejected. If shot into the larger cell, it will cause the bigger cell to split if it consists of less than 16 piece. Thus, the troll can consume the victim.
Hiding a VirusEdit
Not to confuse to the first troll, this one, instead of hiding inside a virus, the player will attempt to hide the virus in order to wait for someone who will think he's lagged and when the cell gets closer, the player will get out and the bigger cell will split. This is the worst one, because not only they will not note the hidden virus, but they will also shoot mass on you to cause damage.
Hiding a CellEdit
Similar to the method of hiding a virus, but this time a player with only one cell hides another player with also just one cell and slightly less mass. Usually the players are allied and have a lot of mass. They might move but it is easier if both don’t move. If a cell with a little bit more mass than the combined mass of the trollers splits in an attempt to eat the visible troller, the troller will split as well. The hidden player will instantly eat the two pieces and gain a lot of mass. If the piece of the attacker arrives it will be too small to consume the troller and will be consumed instead. Then the troller can split to eat the remaining peace of the attacker.
As the name implies this type of trolling involves nicknames. People enter with ridiculously long names and using wide or high characters, create smileys or enter a lot of whitespaces and dots. Also the use of names of popular YouTubers or other popular players can be seen. With the help of scripts it is possible to copy the exact names of other players.
A player - usually with a lot of mass and only one piece - pretends a disconnect happened by not moving. This can be done by a script or by positioning the mouse pointer in the middle of the cell. If smaller cells approach to investigate or to shoot viruses on the player, a sudden split surprises them.
Dancing is another type of trolling. It sometimes is performed in large groups with many cells doing nothing else but dancing. This can be peaceful, however, sometimes trollers only dance to bait other smaller players. If they come into splitting range the troller will do a sudden split to eat the victim.
